The Challenge

A national Director of Human Resources
of a fortune 500 organization was interested in improving their
current benefit enrollment and administration process. This
organization had been undergoing tremendous growth with over
100 strategic acquisitions of "going concerns" over the previous
5 years as well as rapid internal growth. About 18 months ago,
the organization decided it was in their best interest to become
"Self Insured". This meant eliminating more than 50 separate
medical plans, consolidating into one, and centralizing the
administration, thereof. Incidentally, the individual companies
had tremendous loyalty to their own individual plans. |

The Solution

Within 6 months, the
team at had a Plan designed, developed, implemented, and ready
for inauguration. The combination of USI and USICG forms the
leader in integrated benefits solutions, ResourceONE. "It was
a tremendous undertaking, yet they pulled it off with relative
ease, and with a minimal amount of disruption to my staff and
our employees. We are just about to celebrate our 1st anniversary

Benefits Enrollment- The One-on-One
Option

For Open Enrollment, the organization needed to educate and
enroll 3500 employees in 21 states (and in some cases family
members, as well) in a Nationwide Health and Welfare Program
in less than 1 month, without their assistance. Utilizing
the "One-on-One" option of the total benefits solution, a
team of "road warriors", were dispatched to the "field" and
met one on one with about 85% of the organization's employees,
and remotely with the other 15%.
"They made a professional, easy to understand, personalized
presentation to each while sitting in front of their "lap
top" computer so as to "graphically depict" the features and
options for or each individual".
"For many of our employees it was the first time they
were cognizant of the concept of a "hidden paycheck"; most
never having thought about the additional dollars from which
they benefit, over and above their wages/salary".
"From an administrative standpoint they cohesively worked
with our Payroll, Vendor, IT, and HR Departments to upload
and download all key information".
